[Dhokra Publication.]

A publication that documents craft as a living system, examining material, process, and community through research, observation, and design intervention.

This project develops a publication that documents craft practices through a holistic lens, examining not only material and process but also the broader systems that sustain production. Moving beyond descriptive documentation, the work positions craft as an interconnected network of resources, labour, knowledge, and logistics.

Through field research and analysis, the publication captures each stage of the craft ecosystem, from raw material sourcing and making techniques to distribution and economic structures. The project incorporates a personal perspective, reflecting on how these systems function and where challenges emerge within contemporary contexts.

Building on this understanding, the work explores opportunities for design-led interventions, considering how technology and systemic changes can support artisans without disrupting the craft's cultural and material integrity. The publication becomes both a record and a proposition, situating craft within evolving frameworks of design, sustainability, and cultural continuity.
